Timmy and I had been sitting in darkness in our living room for about two weeks. The ceiling fan my father and I had installed started to go dim about two weeks ago and I deducted that some of the wiring must have come loose.
I refused to let Timmy turn on the lights in the living room for fear of burning down the house with my shoddy wiring job. Not that it mattered because the ceiling fan light was so dim turning it on was worthless.
So, two weekends pass and my dad (and my dad's ladder) is able to come by and look at it with me. We can't find anything wrong, all the wire nuts are tight and everything is connected to the right things. That is when I discover that there is a dimmer switch on the fan remote.
Anyway, yesterday I swam a whole lap without stopping. This may not be a big deal to anyone who is mildly fit, but for me it was a huge triumph, before I was only able to get a length of the pool before I had to stop screaming for breath. Granted it was only one lap, but it was one giant lap for whitty-kind!
Now that it is no longer hotter than the surface of the sun in my craft room, I have started to venture up there again. It is a ridiculous mess. During the heat, I would work on a project and escape as quickly as possible downstairs without cleaning up my mess. I have a summer's worth of scraps and remnants stacked up on my sewing table. In fact I have taken to working in the spare room and my mess (and sewing machine and serger) has started to migrate over there.
However I was able to get up there and make a bag I have had in mind for quite sometime. It is the same fabric and basic shape of Mark's man bag, but with a fabric strap and colorful lining. Not to mention my sewing skills have increased exponentially since I made Mark that bag. I will snap some pictures today at lunch, 'cause I know you guys can't wait!
